More than 200 wine samples were received at the Great Home Wine Competition in Horgos
The Great Home Wine Competition was first held in 2002. The event is part of the first generation of wine competitions still in its infancy at the time. At that time, only 70 samples were received for the introductory event. Today, the number has risen to over 200, with samples coming from Albania, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and the whole of Serbia.
The samples were judged by more than 30 experts.
Of course, you could only enter the wine competition with your own wines. The conditions were also simple: by submitting 3 bottled wines per sample, you could enter the category of white, red, rosé and dessert wines. The bottles had to indicate the variety, color, vintage, sugar content and place of production of the wine.
“We had 2018 samples in 264, so I really hope we’ll be there somewhere plus or minus ten percent for the 2018 sample. If there is less, it is not a problem because samples have come from a larger area and that is positive for us. ” He said István Bacskulin, Grand Master of the Orphan Wine Knight Order to Pannon RTV.
The results of the competition will be announced soon
