The Hungarian government and the Ministry of Agriculture supported the producers with all possible means in the emergency situation caused by the summer drought. Due to the general lack of rainfall for a long time, a severe or high degree of drought has developed in a significant area of \u200b\u200bthe country. <\/span><\/p>\n

The suffering lowland wine regions <\/b><\/p>\n

In the area between the Danube and the Tisza there are three interconnected large wine regions. The Kuns\u00e1gi, Csongr\u00e1di and Haj\u00f3s-Baja wine region it lies in an area that is both flat, mostly covered with sand, here and there with loess, and has significantly affected the current situation.<\/p>\n

This year we ended a particularly dry summer, the Great Plains of the country were most affected by the destruction caused by the drought. The cyclones that brought precipitation avoided the territory of Hungary, and most of the precipitation that fell only affected Transdanubia. According to the farmers, the rainy weather in September it was good, although the grape harvesters were not really happy about it, the current rain has no effect on the ongoing harvests and the damage caused.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the contents of the government's five-point package of measures against drought damage: <\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Loan moratorium: from September 2022 to the end of 2023, it is available for investment and working capital loans for agricultural enterprises, including farmers engaged in grape cultivation. Farmers can decide whether to take advantage of the opportunity.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. HUF three billion support framework for feed delivery to farmers in trouble.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. HUF 1,4 billion additional subsidy to support the increased energy costs of state irrigation works serving the irrigation of agricultural areas.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Agricultural and viticultural producers could once again submit their applications regarding their extraordinary water usage needs, and these will be automatically approved by the authority.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Speeding up the procedures of insurance companies for assessing drought damages and paying out damages. Insurers must pay the amount awarded to farmers within 14 days from the notification of the damage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
